The Kevock Choir is actively recruiting in all sections, and especially welcomes enquiries from potential tenor and bass members.

Regardless of whether you read music or learn by ear, new singers will get lots of support and encouragement from the music team and our buddying system – someone will be nominated to help you get to know other members and the choir's routines. The rehearsals are friendly and a fun learning experience across our wide repertoire.

We sing both traditional and contemporary arrangements, covering folk songs from Scotland and around the world, religious pieces, choral versions of popular music, and songs from stage and screen. The choir is well known for performing a varied programme to a high standard – our concerts are fun occasions for choir and audience alike!

To find out more, and to try singing with us, please come to one of our Tuesday evening rehearsals. These take place between late August and the end of May (school holidays excepted), from 7.15-9.00pm in the Assembly Hall, Lasswade Community High School, Eskdale Road, Bonnyrigg, EH19 2LA. The location is not far from the Edinburgh City Bypass.

You will be made very welcome, and invited to join in our vocal warm-up exercises, followed by music learning. We will place you with others in your voice range who can guide you if we are practising any pieces with which they are more familiar.

Look out also for our next Open Night (the date, usually early in the season, will be posted to our Events page), when we hope to welcome a larger number of potential members to a rehearsal specially designed to give a flavour of singing with the choir.

We recommend that you try the choir for a few weeks if unsure after your first night whether it's right for you – it's likely to take some time to get a proper feel for the choir's varied repertoire. You are welcome to do this without commitment.

If you have further questions about joining, please contact the secretary.
